The Charlotte Regional Realtor Association recently reported that data compiled by the Carolina Multiple Listing Services, Inc. (CMLS) showed that the number of closings for May 2012 in the residential real estate market increased by 19.0 percent from 2,191 closings in May 2011 to 2,607 this year. In addition, the average sales price showed a 4.0 percent increase since this time last year, up from $209,288 to $217,561 and the average median price was up 8.6 percent as well for the same time period, from $152,000 to $165,000. Four consecutive months of positive growth in our region continue to make the Charlotte Metro area one of the most popular places to live in the southeast.
